Football Player Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson Tries Yoga to Channel Anger

Football player Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson (get it? he’s number 85) hasn’t had the best year. The former NFL player was dropped by the Miami Dolphins this past August just two months after being signed because he was arrested on charge of domestic battery (he allegedly headbutted his wife following an argument). Yeah, not so good. Now a free agent, in football and in marriage following a divorce finalized in September, Johnson is in need of a real reboot, oh and some anger management.

Enter, yoga! Or his new best friend, yoga teacher and studio owner Selena Collins who approached Johnson and asked him to come by Clear Gardens Yoga in Inglewood, CA.

She told Radaronline:

“I met him at a local restaurant and approached him about coming to my new yoga class.”

“He was so keen, he came to the studio after his meal to check it out, making a special stop even though he was on his way to the airport.  He told me, ‘I’ve never done yoga before, but I think it’s something I should do. I’ll definitely be back.’ “

Just like that! Though it certainly doesn’t hurt Selena is a very attractive lady. But has Johnson have found himself a lasting healthy outlet? He told Showtime’s Inside the NFL:

“I’m trying to find out how can I channel my anger when I’m in situations to where I would pop off.”

Hm. Football may not be your sport then, guy. But we’re glad you tried yoga. Pranayama practice comes in real handy when life doesn’t hand you lemon loafs and takes away your Starbucks Gold card.
