Almost Time For Summer Solstice Yoga In Times Square 2017

Summer Solstice yoga in Times Square 2016.

Summer Solstice yoga in Times Square 2016.

It’s happening. June 21 is the Summer Solstice (we know, already??) and that means it’s also time for saluting the sun in Times Square. As of today, registration is open for you and approximately 9,999 of your yogi friends to get your Mind Over Madness—that’s what they call it, no it’s not a protest march.

Your 2017 schedule is similar to previous years, as are the sponsors—it’s a day of yoga tastings paired with yoga (and yoga-piggybacking) corporations, as to be expected with a free event. Co-founder Douglass Stewart kicks off the longest day of the year with a 7:30am class, you have your stalwart Yee and Saidman Yee appearances, there’s the now traditional (and still OK with using his name) Bikram lunchtime class and a curiously titled #AerieREAL Empowered Flow with Catherine Gignac which we can only assume is aerial yoga swinging from skyscraper-strung Aerie lingerie. The day ends like all yoga events these days, with a DJ’d dance party and free snack bars.

Here’s the full lineup:

7:30am – 8:30am Douglass Stewart
9:30am – 10:30am Sarah Finger
11:30am – 12:30pm: #AerieREAL Empowered Flow with Catherine Gignac
1:30pm – 2:30pm Bikram Yoga with Jen Lobo and Donna Rubin
3:30pm – 4:30pm Aditi Shah and Rachel Cohen
5:30pm – 6:30pm Colleen Saidman Yee and Rodney Yee
7:30pm – 8:30pm LUNA Deep House Yoga with Lauren Taus and DJ Tasha Blank

The event is free but you are invited to contribute to the very worthy charity partners Bent On Learning and Exhale to Inhale. For more info and to register for your preferred session click here.

Wow! Wish I was there. I’ve always wanted to participate in a session of that scale. Unfortunately, I’m on the other end of the states. Will you guys ever have anything on the west coast?

    Cheers!

  • I did not get the inner meaning of this articles. Anyways the arrangement of all points in this post is really good. but still I have the doubt that is it a positive or negative message.
