Heavens to Kali, these are mighty stressful times. It’s like our everyday stresses were just eaten by an even bigger—hUger—stress monster with no easy path to relief in sight. That may seem like the case, but in these tumultuous times, it’s even more important to find a way to decompress and de-stress so we can feel the calm inside despite what’s going on outside.
The best advice we’ve seen to counter all the noise is to take a break from it. (WOW, right?) Seriously, though, as yoga practitioners we have great tools like meditation to help us stay balanced, but if you’re like us, we often times feel a lot more sensitive, too (aka more in touch with our layers of emotions) which can quickly lead to emotional fatigue.
What to DO? Nothing! Easier said than done but we found something to help. This website, aptly called DoNothingFor2Minutes.com is designed to get you to stop what you’re doing and just be exactly where you are…for two whole minutes. It’s harder than it sounds, but we promise even just a two-minute time out will help you to ease your worried mind. Don’t believe us? All we have to say is it can’t hurt to try.
Let us know if you make it through without distraction.
If you’ve just had it with everything, try this no bullsh*t meditation next. And then try again. And again.
[Ed. note: The “do nothing” link is for a book and, should you complete your 2 minutes successfully, you’ll see that. We can’t endorse the book (we haven’t read it) but anything named Calm: Calm the Mind. Change the World can’t be a bad thing right now.]
