Sloth Yoga…now THAT sounds like a hot new style. While becoming increasingly stiff competition for the current reigning champs of the internet (that’d be cats, of course) sloths still lag far behind when it comes to anything related to physical activity. And yet, here we have a sloth, finding time between his two favorite things, napping and napping, to practice yoga. And, suddenly, we’re feeling lazy.
Australian tourist Claudia Moser was on a shuttle bus along the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica when the driver stopped for a sloth sighting on the side of the road. But this was no ordinary sloth, this was the Yoga Sloth! We knew Costa Rica was becoming a hotbed for yoga, but this is impressive.
“I couldn’t believe it when I spotted he was doing my favorite yoga pose. Sloths are supposed to be lazy,” Moser told the Telegraph (UK).
Sloths don’t normally do this—they’re usually hanging around in the trees sleeping. But they’re known to climb down every few days “to go to the toilet” the driver explained to Moser. So, what do you do when you see a sloth stretching it out before or after relieving himself? You join him! (The yoga part.)
“I’ve been practicing yoga for years, so I had to join the sloth on the grassy verge and get into position. It was so much fun,” she said.
And that’s when he knew his true calling. Someone get this guy an agent and an instagram account!
Sign us up for Sloth Yoga. The napping part, too.
