Holiday stress relief!

Holiday stress relief!

Alas, while the holiday season is filled with fun, family, and celebration, let’s face it, it’s only a matter of time before the hustle and bustle of the season leaves us feeling jittery and frazzled. This year, avoid overdoing the vata dosha. Get a little help from your fellow yogadorks and take time to chillax with a yoga practice to help you stay centered amidst all the holiday hustle.

From our friends over at YogaUOnline, here’s an 8-minute soothing yoga break for stress relief with Douglass Stewart. Douglass teaches at the ISHTA Yoga Center and at Yogaworks in New York City and can also be found at the LGBT Community Center in NYC, where he teaches a regular free yoga class promoting outreach to the HIV community.

Douglass is particularly known for his gentle and soothing teaching style—after you try this breath-centered warm-up, you’ll know why!

This practice is excerpted from Douglass’ longer 60 minute Vital Force class available on YogauOnline’s new Practice Channel. Enjoy the longer version of the class here – it’s available for free through the month of December!

YogaUOnline’s just-launched Yoga Practice Channel aims to offer yoga classes tailored to the needs of every body, regardless of age or experience level. Try a 10-day free trial here.

  • Alright I’ve been putting off my first steps in yoga for quite some time now. But NO more excuses. Great Video!

  • If you’re interested to learn about mindfulness, understand
that it’s almost impossible to teach yourself
about it. The best way is to enroll in a mindfulness training course, where
a teacher can answer your questions and guide you through the
    process.
