Christina Aguilera’s 2012 “Lotus”

Xtinasana? Christina Aguilera is diving so deep into her yoga practice, she’s cited it as an influence for her next album. But it’s less about the poses and the “workouts” celebriyogis are often featured doing in magazines. It’s about “feeling more one with the Earth and everyone being connected” which we’ will soon hear about through her powerful singing style and Xtina ways.

“Taking a love for yoga and breathing…not looking at it as an exercise, but just feeling more one with the Earth and everyone being connected, it’ll definitely have a reflection on the new record,” Aguilera said in a recent interview.

The yet-to-be-named album would be a follow up to Aguilera’s 2012 yoga-y titled “Lotus.” The pop singer, who splits her time between being a mom to her 1-year-old, being a judge on “The Voice,” recording music, and practicing yoga (we assume?) is looking to drop her new album next year. She’ll also return as a “Voice” judge where we might even see her do some team-bonding yoga again.

When you think about it…you really do have to clear out the chakras for all those vocal runs sisterwoman goes on. It all makes sense now.*

*Sorry, yoga will not automatically make you an awesome singer.

  • I love Christina Aguilera, and her music and most of all she made me love yoga more than ever and I’m very happy about how it helps me as it did for her.

  • I would have never taken Christina for the yoga type… color me surprised!

  • Nice to see yoga coming of age beyond the sphere of “yoga circles” and dripping into pop culture a bit more. Look forward to the reflection
