Yoga Tops 2015 Resolution Chatter on Social Media (INFOGRAPHIC)

in Thanks for the tip, YD News

We know that health is typically a biggie when it comes to New Year’s resolutions, but this infographic shows how yoga, specifically, was a buzzworthy topic this year.

Through the very group therapy-sounding method of “social listening” – basically crunching social media chatter –  online marketing agency Meltwater was able to deduce that health and better living was a major topic, accounting for 25% of all chatter on social media between December 29th and Jan 5th. And out of that, the topic of yoga landed at 1%, right alongside drinking less beer and cats. Funny, it seems like yoga has been about drinking more beer lately. And cats, well, they just rule the interwebs.

According to the data, there was a shift in focus to wellness and happiness overall and an increased interest in self-imposed improvement. Maybe people are indeed seeking to pause more. That said, the rest of the better living chatter makes sense with 18% about getting in shape, 10% being happier, 8% being more spiritual, and 4%, the classic quitting smoking resolution. PRO TIP: Yoga and cats can definitely help with all of that.

“cat overthinking” and “skinny bible” are now my resolutions. but what’s “beamiller”? be a miller (a hipster thing?), beam iller (i get sick from beams but don’t enjoy it), bea miller (listen more to the teen singer?) . social media sure has things and stuff.

  • Really wondering, what is the cat point about… more or less cats? or i might miss something

  • Hey would you mind letting me know which hosting company you’re utilizing?
I’ve loaded your blog in 3 completely different web browsers and I must say this
blog loads a lot faster then most. Can you suggest a good internet
hosting provider at a reasonable price? Many thanks, I appreciate it!
