New Images from Kevin Smith’s ‘Yoga Hosers’ Yoga Superhero Movie With Johnny Depp

in YD News, Yoga On Film

Here’s Johnny Depp all dressed up and in practically unrecognizable makeup for his role in Kevin Smith’s highly yogadorkably anticipated, “Yoga Hosers.” The movie, which just finished wrapping up filming, stars Depp as Guy Lapointe, a reprisal of his Montreal man-hunter character in Smith’s “Tusk.” In the film, Lapointe steps in to help the Colleens (also reprised roles from “Tusk”) played by Harley Quinn Smith and Lily-Rose Depp (the 15-year-old daughters of Kevin Smith and Johnny Depp, respectively) who go from convenience store clerks to yoga superheroes forced to battle evil forces and fight for their lives using “all seven Chakras, one Warrior Pose at a time.”

If you’re just joining us and wondering WTF, no, we are not joking. A yoga superhero horror movie created by Kevin Smith will indeed make it to the big screen some time this year. For reals. “Yoga Hosers” is the second in Smith’s “True North Trilogy,” with “Tusk” being the first. What we can expect from the film is something we hope is a cross between “Clerks” and “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” meets yoga humor. As a refresher, a hoser is old Canadian hockey slang for “loser” or “idiot.” Really we’re just crossing our toes it doesn’t stink. We kind of can’t look away at this point so stay tuned for more updates as more info, pics, trailer, release dates are released.

Here are two more freshly released stills from the film, featuring Lapointe and our yoga superheroines who seem to have gotten themselves into a pickle.

And Kevin Smith’s sweet tweet of the two ladies hugging it out.

OH…and Yoga Hosers is officially on Twitter.

The film also features these actors reprising their “Tusk” roles: Michael Parks, Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, Genesis Rodriguez, Ralph Garman, and Harley Morenstein, plus Tony Hale, Natasha Lyonne, Austin Butler, Adam Brody, Tyler Posey and Jason Mewes. Plus cameos from Stan Lee and Kevin Smith.
