in This Week in Yoga, YD News

It was the best of times, it was the end of times. But if you’re reading this email, then the world didn’t end! Huzzah! Or perhaps we’re all now living in an alternate universe, where parents try to ban yoga in school and yoga moguls try to copyright poses. Oh wait…hrm.

As we know in yoga all good things (and bad things, of course) must come to an end. Don your festive sweaters and join us in celebrating the close of 2012 and the beginning of the New Year with our annual series of holiday giveaways. Details on the first one is below. Stay tuned for more throughout the next two weeks!

This isn’t cheery nor festive, but someone’s got to tell it like it is. Leave it to snarky New Yorkers. Austin Woman Slammed for Attempting Yoga in a NYC Cab, and Other Questionable Tips

OK, so this isn’t the most joyful holiday news either, but it could end up setting a new precedent for the opposition of yoga in schools. Parents Denounce Yoga, Demand Ban in Protest of Religious Indoctrination

And now for the first of the YD Holiday Giveaways! Win The Ultimate Yoga Poster a 24″ x 36″ gathering together of major concepts, types and the history of yoga all in one visually cool and comprehensible overview of the practice. Click here to enter.
