Karma. Some days you step in it.
More yoga shoes! Sort of. Unlike the Nike wrappy straps, these shoes are meant for yoga to and fro, not during. These Karma kickers by Ahnu caught our eye when online shoe dealer Zappos.com posted this “Good Karma” ad on facebook to mixed responses.
OK, fashion aside, tell us again why we need special yoga shoes to get us to the studio and back. Will we need exclusive transport soon? How about the Chevy Shakti-Cycle? It’s an Indian silk-upholstered hovercraft with a zero carbon footprint running on meditative brain waves and Kapalabhati breath. Alternative fuels, y’all! It doesn’t honk. It Oms.
It shall be noted Zappos has some freakishly efficient customer service, and there are perky responses to pretty much every comment on the ad, rivaling the sprightliness of lulu associates. And apparently they’re big “yoga-heads” over there too, which makes perfect sense because we require about an hour of isolated meditation after a minute of viewing the site’s flurry of footwear. OMG, shopping vritti brain overload!
Here’s a selection of comments:
So “good karma” from shoes. We were kinda wondering about that, too.
Zappos. Always on their toes. To be fair, the Karma shoes were featured in Yoga Journal and they are part of a whole Ahnu “yoga lifestyle” collection, if your lifestyle afforded cutesy $100 yoga loafers. See?
Their description reads: “This active slip on offers style and comfort without compromising any aspect of yoga-chic.”
See you shabby yoga losers later. Vroom VroooOOOmmm. Karma is a real sales pitch.
