To all of you out there with the name, to Ms. Bullock and to little orphan Annie’s cute pooch, we apologize, but Sandy is a cold-hearted bitch. The wicked witch of weather swooped in this Halloween week and cast her evil spell on the east leaving unfathomable damage both physically and emotionally in her path. We were fairly lucky being in uptown NYC and did not get the brunt of Hurricane Sandy’s destruction, for which we are enormously grateful. For others not faring so well we put together a list of ways we can all help. As a yoga community, we also invite you to share your Hurricane Sandy story which may help your own personal recovery or affect another in theirs more than you may know.

“That nothing is static or fixed, that all is fleeting and impermanent, is the first mark of existence. It is the ordinary state of affairs. Everything is in process. Everything—every tree, every blade of grass, all the animals, insects, human beings, buildings, the animate and the inanimate—is always changing, moment to moment.” – Pema Chodron
