‘Walking Dead’ Actor Charged with DUI Suggests Yoga as Sobriety Test

in Public Display of Yoga, YD News

Scott Wilson, who, coincidentally, plays the role of drunken farmer Hershel Greene on zombie show “The Walking Dead” was pulled over for speeding and swerving on a Ga. highway in the early morning of August 18th.

When the 70-year-old actor was asked the obligatory, “Sir, have you been drinking tonight?” he admitted to having wine and scotch at the nearby Founders Restaurant & Bar in Senoia, where the AMC series is currently shooting its third season.

Wilson failed the normal walk the line sobriety test, but suggested he try another method. No zombie attacks! Thank goodness.

According to the officer’s report:

After failing field sobriety tests, Wilson complained the roadway was too “slanted” and asked the officer if he could instead perform some “yoga moves.”

Alas, a breathalyzer test proved him past the legal limit, no matter how “rockin'” his eka pada galavasana, even if it was half-assed.

The lesson? Drunken yoga is for sobriety free yipster festivals and classic late night party tricks. (Mind those inversions!) Also, don’t drink and drive, fool.

All yoga balance proves is habituation and natural or developed core strength. It does not prove any lack of drunkenness. I’m a serious student of pilates and I should know these things.

If I was very drunk after a night of partying I would probably have a problem doing yoga poses. I know that’s true with operating a tractor.

I love the show Walking Dead, but this is crazy and kind of hilarious! http://extendyoga.com/
