This Week In Yoga: Mass Yoga, Michael Franti, Yogasms and Welfare Yoga for All

in This Week in Yoga

Whoaoctober! Summer’s over and we’re already shivering in our boots. Well, not exactly. But soup and hot beverages are on the menu and we have to say, it’s quite pleasing! Also on the menu, massive awesomness, which tastes especially delicious with a side of warm tea in belly pose after cozy sweater asana. YUM. Meet our newest YogaDork Educator, Senior Iyengar teacher Carrie Owerko and read on for all the delectables and/or detestables in the latest yoga news of the week.  This is where we wish the Canucks a Happy Thanksgiving and continue on with our American pie droolfest until November.

Here’s What Happened This Week In Yoga:

The Obligatory Fancy Amuse-Bouche to start:

Some tasty h’ordeuvres, about 3,000 of them:

First Course of Action: Not your regular school lunch…

The Main Course of Activism:

To Cleanse the Palate: Meet our newest YogaDork Educator!

Yoga, Buffet Style:

Sweets! The PG dessert: So scrumptiously cute you could eat it up!

Hm…and the Adult Dessert?

Paired with a potentially kinky feely surprise:

We finish TWIY with an apple for the road. Here’s to a pioneer, a visionary and one of the crazy ones. RIP Steve Jobs.

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.” – Steve Jobs, Apple Inc.

He leaves a legacy. Here are some of his words to leave you inspired.
