‘It’s too debilitating to drink a lot, so I use other relaxation techniques. I sit on my own, calm down, take stock.” Rolling Stone and recent Sanskrit singer Mick Jagger isn’t just all fickle rockstar about Indian traditions.
It turns out the freshly turned 68-year-old British wonder of rock ‘n science prefers meditation and yoga over cocktails and well, chasing tail.
According the UK’s Daily Mail, Jagger is taking the healthy road in his later years with a fitness regime of ballet, yoga and pilates thanks to personal trainer to the stars Torje Eike. He’s also a healthful diet of avocados, pasta and super smoothies and a regular beauty routine of “caviar facials” and daily applications of £530 (roughly $863) a jar moisturizer. Must be nice to be rich – in love with life, of course!
The latest news has also spurred our favorite headline of the week via Pakistan’s Daily Times: ‘Mick Jagger’s fitness, beauty credited to yoga, pilates, £500 creams’
Because what we’ve really been dying to hear is the secret to Sir Jagger’s exalted beauty! At least now we know how the Jag keeps up his energy running around the stage a purported 12 miles at every concert. Go Mick Yogger go!
If only yoga had influenced Mick Jagger earlier. We could’ve had such Rolling Stones albums as Their Sattvic Majesties Request, Sticky Mat Fingers, Let It Breathe, rocking out to classic hit singles “You Can’t Always Get What Your Want (except when you practice, practice, practice)” and “Honky Tonkuttasana Women.”*
