“A few players I know said they had tried hot yoga and that it helped improve their flexibility while flushing out their systems, so I thought I would try it. I can do most of the poses, but I’m not as flexible in my upper body because I’m so muscular. Sometimes I just have to stand there and watch everyone else,” says Patriots cornerback, and presumably awesome guy, Devin McCourty who adopted a twice-weekly hot yoga practice as part of his offseason regimen.
McCourty was snapped up in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft – a hot commodity on the field and the mat, apparently. We dig! A changing of the pro footballer guard? Maybe. We’re still waiting for that Visvamitrasana to Eka Pada Koundinyasana II touchdown dance. 2011-2012 season, let’s make it happen!
