Hear This: Morley ‘Be The One’ Empowering Music for Social Change

in YD News

Meet our latest musical obsession! Morley is a singer songwriter soulstress with a soothing sensuality oozing with empowered femininity and grace. Yes, lovely! We had the delight of hearing Morley live this past weekend at the REVEAL conference at Urban Zen where she opened and closed the day’s event. Morley’s music is deeply rooted in promoting social change with global activism woven into her lyrical stanzas.

She’s played shows to benefit The Lineage Project, presented at TEDWomen and TEDxEast, and performed for the likes of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela, and Ela Gandhi. Think Joni Mitchell meets Annie Lennox meets Marvin Gaye. Like if Lady Gaga were born in a co-op instead of a disco.

Check out new tune “Be the One” a feelgood song and video from her latest album “Undivided” due out this month. Love the yogi cameos.

This song was inspired by a lot of joy and faith in people, especially the youth.

I feel a lot of us feel like we have to apologize for our enthusiasm for life and turn the volume down on our inner voice to keep clear of judgement. I want to break out of that, especially at this time in our culture where public shaming seems to be at an all time high.

A Joni Mitchell without the wistfulness …
A paved Paradise without the parking lot ….
