Brilliant! We love fun stuff like this. Because what else were you doing standing on the corner waiting for the light to change? Checking your twitter feed? Holding your breath? Do yoga, slacker! It’s about “recycling time” according to designer Li Ming Hsing. A nice break from the standard tadasana we’re always standing in.
The concept is totally awesome, but as the astute bloggers at dvice pointed out, for NYC at least, this is asking natives to actually follow traffic laws and heed red lights. HA! Maybe where we need this most is on subway platforms and trains. ‘Hey you, hyperventilating over delays, chugging your Trenta double latte, break out your tree pose!’ It’s the least the MTA can do.

“Do yoga, slacker!” is getting stolen for my own diabolical purposes. Fair warning.
