We’ve seen yoga do a lot of things from abling disabled to the Thom Yorke shakti shake, so we’re hopeful about this one.
March 12, 2011 – Join India’s Odanadi Seva Trust in a global yoga event to unite against human trafficking.
Odanadi Seva Trust is a grassroots organization based in Mysore, South India, to help rescue women and children from the violence of sexual exploitation and human trafficking. Over the past 20 years Odanadi has rescued and rehabilitated more than 1850 children, carried out 57 brothel raids and brought 137 traffickers to justice. With your help, compassion and cooperation, Odanadi will continue to provide a place of sanctuary for the survivors of human trafficking and offer them a chance to rebuild their lives.
Go to YogaStopsTraffick.com for more info and details on how to get involved. Find them on facebook.
Human trafficking and modern-day slave trade is very real. MTV Exit is also promoting awareness with their Bold Lipstick Photo Competition. If so inclined, check it out (and maybe “like” our YD pal JT’s photo as your favorite to win).
