Stop the presses! Bethenny Frankel, reality-TV star and perpetually skinny natural foods chef, has lost the baby weight! Sure it’s only been a few weeks since giving birth, but judging by the before and after photos above (thx foxnews!), did she really gain any weight besides the actual babushka to begin with?
Um, we mean, how DID she lose that weight?? Breaking news Via Us Weekly:
Frankel stayed active while carrying Bryn, alternating yoga with 45-minute walks three times a week, and practiced portion control with a vegetarian diet.
It’s yoga, yo. Plus, she’s super (almost freakishly) conscious of skinny-ness…hence her expanding line of books including Naturally Thin: Unleash Your SkinnyGirl and Free Yourself from a Lifetime of Dieting (March 2009 ), The SkinnyGirl Dish: Easy Recipes for Your Naturally Thin Life (Dec 2009), plus an exercise DVD, Body by Bethenny (spring 2010) and an audiobook called The Skinnygirl Rules.
What can we say, the lady likes her slim with a side of skinny! She’s also a huge yogadork, as mentioned in her prenatal routine and as featured in her fitness DVD. If you really want to know what she thinks, there’s a special page on her site for “what yoga means to me.”
Her perspectives run from quite inspired, “For me, the centered feeling and peace that yoga creates in my life permeates to my eating, work, relationships and body. The most important and different thing about yoga is that it isn’t ego-based. You may not be able to get into a pose that someone else can. It is your practice. Think of what the word “practice” means. You keep striving to be better.”
To just a teensy bit confused, “I particularly like Vinyasa yoga. Vinyasa is a flow. Although there are many poses that you repeat throughout the practice, it varies every time and with each instructor. Ashtanga, on the other hand, is a set series of 26 poses that never change. That isn’t to say that it won’t seem different: no two days are the same nor are any two instructors.”
psst. we think she means Bikram.
To be fair, we don’t pretend to have watched any of The Real Housewives of New York City, but from what we gather based on our reality-show-obsessed acquaintances, Ms. Frankel is a chutzpah’d go-getter and a woman’s woman. (people please confirm/dispel). In any case, we can tell just by her lively website and hyperactive twitter, she is a force to be reckoned with! Albeit a very thinly framed force, yet a force just the same.
Man, if there was ever a chance for a yoga reality show! Co-starring Jon Gosselin, Victoria Beckham, and Heidi Montag!?
