Ravi Shankar Attacked, Not Attacked, Forgives Either Way!

in World News, YD News

No, not Ravi Shankar, the sitar superstar, but Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the 54-year-old spiritual leader and yogapreneur behind the Art of Living Foundation. Contrary to earlier reports that Sri Sri had been the victim of a gun attack, it turns out they (the police, etc.) don’t really where the firing came from or who or what it was aimed at, so we have confirmation on an unconfirmed event! Which has since been downgraded to the practically harmless “incident”. Still, extra security was called just in case, though don’t expect this dude to blow his cool either way.

Speaking to reporters at his ashram this morning, Ravi Shankar said he was happy with the existing security and has forgiven the attacker.

“I heard a loud noise. But I was in my usual calm self. My driver had a premonition that there could be some kind of attack on me”, Ravi Shankar said.

The spiritual guru said, “I do not have enemies. However, whoever has done this, I forgive him.I give him amnesty.I invite him to join our satsang course.I will teach him meditation and Sudarshan Kriya (a breathing technique popularised by him).”

I think we all learned the lesson here. If you want special sessions with Ravi Shankar all you have to do is shoot at him!* (note: do not try this)

*may not apply for famous Indian musicians of the same name.

  • Sarah, one curious yogi

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar could offer a special weekend workshop to all shooters and people inciting violence against other people. He could call it “Ahimsa for the ignored: Why can’t we all just get along?”

  • Hi, YogaDork.

What is Ravi Shankar’s reputation in the overall Yoga community. I was looking for your usual array of links to past blogs. Have you written about Shankar before?

    Thanks,

    Bob
