Is there a yogi in the house? heh.
If we had to guess the next TV star to utter the word “yoga”, Hugh Laurie’s name would be on about the 127th page of the celebriyogi list, single-spaced. Have you seen ‘House‘? The bloke plays the epitome of a sharp-tongued curmudgeon medical genius! But a very non-yoga-like intimidating curmudgeon genius, with a dry sense of humor and menacing limp. This limp is only for the TV character, ‘Gregory House, M.D.’, as is the Brit actor’s snarlyness, thank goodness, but it’s really taking a toll:
“The show might last through to series seven, eight or nine but I don’t know if I will because I’m starting to lose my knees. It’s a lot of hip work. There are things going badly wrong. I need to do yoga.”
Get this man some yoga stat! (seriously, he means business. look at him). Obviously we’re always quite pleased to hear of doctors adopting yoga and encouraging patients to practice, so we’ll take even the TV kind. And whether he’s a real practitioner or not, it’s kinda nice to hear yogapop in the context of healing, rather than the usual kinky pretzel beeswax. (though we know some Laurie fans will go there anyway!)

Is he saying that playing House (a dude with a painful limp) is causing him (the compelling Mr Laurie) real-life leg and hip trouble? Now that’s actor-ly commitment.
Ever more impressed,

@yogaspy – yep, that’s how I read it.
Totally untrue story, was made up by one of the english newspapers.
It was just a joke he had made and the English media took it seriously.
He explained that it in one of the US talk shows.
Forgot which one.
