Here’s one for the devoted Brit-Pop set. Former Pulp frontman, Jarvis Cocker, will be taking over Paris’ Galerie Chappe with his band for “public rehearsals” over the next 6 consecutive afternoons starting today. Lucky gallery-goers will be treated to a special Cocker-conducted soundtrack to the Galerie organized yoga and Pilates classes. 2-3pm: Bring an instrument – fans are invited to play with the band – amplification will be provided.
3-4pm: Yoga class – with an instructor while the band provides musical accompaniment. Attendees must bring their own mats.
4-5pm: Improvisations on a theme – with the band improvising music based on written suggestions and themes from fans.
5-6pm Guest performance – an as-yet unannounced guest will join the band to play live with them.
May 6
12-2pm: Band rehearsal.
2-4pm: Children’s day – music-based children’s activities supervised by the band. Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult.
4-5pm: Relaxation – the band will provide musical accompaniment to a relaxation class, with fans asked to bring mats.
5-6pm Guest performance.

2-3pm: Improvisations on a theme (see May 5).
3-4pm: Pilates class – the band will provide musical accompaniment to a class with an instructor, with fans asked to bring mats.

Hmmm…the only music I know by Jarvis is a song called “C—s are Still Running the World”…apparently he has a more yogic side as well….
