♥ Ahh… ze scent of lahve eez een ze air, mon petit chou. It must be the sweat of 2 love yogis locked in a partner pose.
Yes, Valentine’s Day is upon us (already?). We hope you enjoy the heart-shaped day and celebrate love for a significant other, or a significant you. There’s plenty of mushy yoga stuff going on if your partner is into that, or if maybe you’re looking to meet a partner, Yoga Journal has a good smattering of events, or try elephantbeans for a more fluffed out list of NYC yoga love-ins.
As for us, well our S.O. isn’t quite so yogicly inclined so there’s really no chance of getting them to the mat. However, we’re content settling for chocolate and other sweet indulgences. Speaking of which, if you were a fan of our holiday yogini martini™, read on for our easy lovers’ chocolate martini recipe. Or for the daring try this purportedly potent aphrodisiac (which claims it’s the watermelon combo, but we think it’s the rum).
Enjoy your lovers libations, but try not to overdo it, for as Shakespeare may have said it best…
“Lechery, sir, it provokes and unprovokes. It provokes the desire, but takes away the performance.” [Macbeth, act 2, Scene 3]
er… if you know what he means.
♥ Valentine’s Yogini Martini™ recipe…
Ingredients:
– 2 ounces vanilla vodka
– 1 ounce chocolate liquor (Godiva’s an option)
– Splash of Creme de Cacao (dark)
Mix all ingredients in shaker with ice. Shake it up and pour. Garnish with cocoa and enjoy with some chocolate covered strawberries.
Variations: soymilk can be added to make it creamy, or mix it up with Creme de Menthe for minty version or Kahlua for a coffee flavor.
and really, I think the martini is more likely over here as well 😉
this is one yogini who hates partner yoga — if a teacher announces that in a class, I leave!
the 2010 list is up!
