NYC Halloween Yoga Events; No Sequel to 2007’s Zombie Yoga, Sadly

in YD News

Jack-o-lantern Om Sadly, last year’s Zombie Yoga will not be returning this Halloween for a sequel (seems it was only a trailer for a new book). Bummer. But, believe it or not, there are actually a couple of events endeavoring to combine yoga and Halloween this year.

Halloween Harvest Midnight Yoga at Laughing Lotus
The studio’s usual Friday Midnight Yoga is being transformed into a Halloween extravaganza. Starting at 9pm there’s free tarot readings, parade viewing and treats. Then at 10pm you can expel your demons with ceremony and vinyasa class featuring live music.
The event will cost you $20 and space is limited, of course, so call to reserve a spot. Costumes don’t seem to be required, but what’s a Halloween party without one? Just be sure it’s suited for some Acro-Yoga aerial tricks.
Laughing Lotus is at 59 west 19th at 6th Ave. *TIP* if you want to get anywhere near 6th Ave we suggest you start heading down there right after work (parade starts at 7pm, and goes up 6th Ave from Spring to 21st St).

Halloween Open Mic Kirtan at Integral Yoga
Hankering for a creeepy kirtan sing-along? Dying to dress up as your favorite singer/songwriter? Us neither! But this sounds like a pretty good excuse to do just that. Join Integral Yoga for their open-mic kirtan costume party. Doesn’t sound too spooky, but fun nonetheless.
Start time is 8pm, and cost is $5 suggested donation. Refreshments provided. Check here for more info.
Integral Yoga is at 227 West 13th Street (between 7th and 8th).

For those who missed it or who want to relive (die?) last year’s Zombie Yoga check out the gruesome video below…
