We came across this article today in our internet travels, “Age Retarding Benefits of Yoga.”
Immediately we’re all, ‘Wait, what do you mean? What about my age? It’s ruining the benefits of yoga?‘
No. Actually this article is about how yoga can aid in the “anti-aging” process, NOT how your age can retard the benefits of yoga. Ohhh. It’s like a page out of Eats, Shoots & Leaves. (Note to the Informative Post editor: Someone needs a new blog-post-titler over at the old IP HQ! Sheesh. Yes, we acknowledge this is a petty complaint, and not really worthy of discussion, but stop confusing everyone, mmk?)
And then we read the article:
Can you risk losing an important assignment you had been dreaming of, just because of your aged looks coming in the way? Will a few extra pounds play spoilsport denying you the long awaited chance to perform in the big event? In the mid years of your career, there may be many such occasions when you missed good opportunities just because of your lack of youthful appearance.
Of course! If only there were some way we could be 22 all our lives! No more missed opportunities! In other words, this is kind of haberdash.
And while we’re on the subject, this seems like a fine opportunity to go ahead and vent our grievances with the line “reverse your aging process,” because, seriously, we’re pretty certain in the year 2008 that is still biologically impossible. Sure, we get what they’re trying to say, but it’s still annoying! You can’t reverse getting old!
Venting over…sigh.
